Love your dogs....

I try to keep this blog strictly business, but when my personal life affects the business, I feel compelled to let you all know. This is one of those times.

My 8-1/2 year old brindle Great Dane, Mackenzie, is not going to be around much longer. She probably has 1-2 weeks left and I'm trying to make the most of it. So business will go on, but at a slightly slower-than-usual pace.

I do not write this to receive a flood of well-meaning, sympathetic email. As much as I appreciate the thought, I would rather you use the time it would take to write to me and go play with your dogs. Love 'em up because we only get them for a short time.

Thank you for your continued support of GreatDanePhotos.

East this time!

I'm heading east this Wednesday for the Great Dane National Specialty to be held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I will not be checking email again until Holloween, so hopefully no one has a photo emergency for those two weeks.

MAC USDAA and BOTC orders are all out, with a couple of exceptions. I'm frantically working on NADAC Championships orders and hope to have most of them out by the end of the week. Key City orders are started but probably won't ship until the beginning of November.

Have a good fall and safe travels to all!

Westward ho!

BOTC proofs are up! If things were too crazy for you at the booth this weekend, now's your chance to shop in peace.

I'm off this morning to Gillette, Wyoming for the NADAC Championships. I'll be home late in the day on Tuesday, Sept 25.

Take care!

upcoming travel

If you keep an eye on my travel schedule, you know I'll be at the NADAC Championships starting Wednesday, September 19. I will leave this Friday and be in Bloomington for their trial, and then I'll leave from there Monday morning for Gillette, Wyoming. I will have email access, but NADAC is famous (or notorious!) for the loooooooong days so no guarantees that I'll actually read it. The moral of this story is--if you need something soon, email or call me ASAP. Otherwise, I won't get to it until September 26 at the earliest.

Order updates: Most of the Little Falls USDAA orders are out, with the last few shipping this week. A good portion of the St. Croix Valley and MMBC orders went out Friday. Most of the ones that remain are the orders including tshirts. Those should go out by the end of the week.

I will not be processing the MAC USDAA orders or the BOTC orders until after I get home from Wyoming, but they will take priority over orders from Champs.

Fall is my busiest time, so please be patient (and a little persistant) if you need to get in touch with me. The best way to communicate is to talk to me *in person* at a trial.

Take care all! Safe travels!

finally an update!

I guess I'm not cut out to be a regular blogger, but here's the latest from GDP.

Orders through July have almost all gone out. I think there's a few from the Iowa dressage show that will ship this week.

Orders from August are in process. Most of the Tails in Motion USDAA orders will ship this week or be delivered to the MAC USDAA trial this coming weekend. I'm starting to work on St. Croix Valley KC orders and hope to be able to start shipping them next week.

Turnaround time FOR WEB ORDERS is approacing 6 weeks and will probably remain that way for the fall. If you want your order sooner, please order at the trial.

That's all for now! See you ringside!

And the winners are....

Chris Williams (dog - Belle) and Shirley Wallace (dog - Whisk)!!! Congrats to the two of you and enjoy spending your gift certificate! And just in case you didn't know the dog in the photo--it was Kelly Mullett's Teddie.

For those of you who entered but did not win, thanks for playing. I've already got the next few weeks planned out, so be sure to stop by the booth at the BOTC trial this weekend to see who the new "Dog of the Week" is! You may be the next winner!

I'm off in a few hours for a Vizsla Specialty in St. Peter on Friday and then the BOTC Agility trial for the weekend. No email while I'm gone.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Proofs up!

MMBC proofs are already online! Shop 'til ya drop, everyone!

Normally I would be well on my way home from the trial this weekend, but with the current state of internet access at my house, I decided it would be better to stick around in town for a couple extra hours and get the proofs online now.

As I mentioned in my last post, email will be sporadic until the problem is fixed. However, the phone works perfectly, so if you need to know something right away, please give me a call.

Watch for the winners of this weekends "Dog of the Week" contest to be posted here later in the week. There will be a new photo at the BOTC AKC trial this coming weekend, so be sure to stop by the booth on Monday (and maybe a few hours on Sunday) to enter for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate for GreatDanePhotos. Don't know what this contest is all about? I'll post details when I announce this week's winners.

As my work here seems to be finished, I'll now be hitting the road north. Have a great week and see you soon!

Finally!

I'm finally caught up on all orders. The last few AKC Nationals orders shipped today. There are just a few orders from the Agile Canines and St. Cloud trials that haven't shipped, but those should go out next week. Online orders place before May 7 have also shipped. Online order placed on or after the 7th will be processed with the batch I receive at the show this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, I'm in Savage at the Minnesota Mixed Breed NADAC trial. No email while I'm gone.

And speaking of email, we're having internet issues at my house again and we're scheduled for a service call on Wednesday. Email will be spotty at best until we're back up. I'll make a trip to Caribou to upload photos from this weekend, so those should still go up on time.

Off to St. Cloud

I'm heading out for a NADAC trial in St. Cloud this weekend. No email while I'm gone.

Most of the orders placed before April 20 involving just prints have shipped. I'm still working on novelty items from orders placed at the AKC Nationals and online before the 20th. Those should ship by the middle-to-end of next week. Orders placed after the 20th are starting to get processed and should start shipping by the end of next week.

Have a good weekend!

Summer starts!

My summer travel season starts today! I'm at the Agile Canines NADAC trial in Lake Elmo for the weekend. No email while I'm gone.

Some orders from the AKC Nationals will start shipping next week. I'm still working on collages and novelty items, so if your order includes those items, it won't ship until the following week or so.

Murphy's Law lives

The past several weeks have been a living testament to Murphy's Law. I knew I would be incommunicado just before and during the AKC Nationals. But after arriving home from Ohio, we started having trouble with our internet connection and were told it wouldn't be back until Tuesday, the 10th. So no email going in or out.

Monday, the 9th, I spent the day at our nearest Caribou Coffee using their internet to upload the proofs from the Nationals. But I don't have my email on a portable computer, so still no email.

Monday I also started feeling a bit under the weather. By the next morning, I was a lot under the weather. I finally went to the doctor yesterday and was put on antibiotics for tonsillitis. I'm doing better today, but still laying low and not doing much work.

So this all is to say that if you wrote me an email in the past three weeks, I haven't gotten to it yet. If it's urgent, please give me a call. Thank you for your continued patience.

Check here for updates!

I've decided that this might be the best way to keep my customers informed with what's going on in my life. Rather than trying to put updates on my homepage, this seems to be a much better medium for that type of information. Hopefully it will help answer the perpetual question--when will I get my stuff?

I will not be allowing comments on this blog because I don't intend for it to be a place for dialog. If you need to contact me, please use the traditional methods--email, phone, or snail mail.
